At a meeting with the Director of the M. K. \u010ciurlionis National Museum of Art Daina Kamarauskien\u0117 and Vice Director for Museum Activities Dr Raimonda Norkute, representatives of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (HEI): Director Dr Andrius Brusokas, Vice Director for Organisational Development Dr Inga Stravinskien\u0117, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Education Albertas Juodeika, Head of the Academy of Arts Lukas Alsys and Coordinator of the Photography study programme Svetlana Batura, discussed the possibilities of joint activities.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Owl Hill is a significant historical and cultural place in the Lithuanian context. Together with the museum, we are the guardians of the roots of this historical place,\u2019 emphasised the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Education, highlighting the common points of contact between the institutions. According to D. Kamarauskien\u0117, the Temporary M. K. \u010ciurlionis Art Gallery, which belongs to the faculty building complex, is the first \u201chome\u201d of the M. K. \u010ciurlionis National Museum of Art (the first gallery in Kaunas). \u2018Our beginning was with you, in your territory,\u2019 emphasised the museum Director, suggesting ideas for the development of cooperation.<\/p>\n

It is safe to say that the inter-institutional partnership that has been going on for several years will encourage the implementation of even greater ambitions, many of which emerged during the conversation: from souvenir production, and lectures at the museum to the development of cultural activities in the Dz\u016bkija region and an international conference. Possible initiatives to commemorate the 150th<\/sup> anniversary of the birth of the composer and artist Mikalojus Konstantinas \u010ciurlionis (1875\u20131911), which will be widely celebrated in Lithuania and the world in 2025, were also discussed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
