On 8\u201310 September, Milda Gintilien\u0117, Head of the Department of Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Medicine, and lecturer Dain\u0117 Krasuckien\u0117 participated in the meeting of the partners of the Nordplus project ‘Empowering puppetry’, held in Tallinn. With this meeting, the project, which has already accumulated 6 years of experience, begins a new stage of activities, according to the programme prepared\u00a0\u00a0<\/em> by Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution.<\/p>\n

The experience, accumulated during 6 years, \u00a0has shown that the diverse way in which puppets can be used in empowering activities is quite unique. Having learned to use it, it can be one of the main advantages, while dealing with patients who lack communication skills , ability to recognise and express feelings because of their social, psychological, cultural background.<\/p>\n

At the meeting in Talinn, with the participation of colleagues from Estonia (Tartu Health Care College), Finland (HAME University of Applied Sciences), Latvia (P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia) and the coordinator from Lithuania (Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution) future activities were discussed. An intensive training course for students of each project\u00a0\u00a0partners institution\u00a0\u00a0planned to be held in May, 2026 at Faculty of Medicine, Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution. The planned intensive training week will focus on using puppet education with children having sensory integration disorders. The aim of the training is to promote students’ skills in problem solving and service development in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.<\/p>\n
